After a lack of cooperation from Mother Nature on Saturday night, Star Speedway’s championship night was moved to Sunday afternoon, where the program was run in full. The Krupski Cup for the New England Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodifieds was part of the Sunday program. Star Speedway has annually run the event to honor long-time track worker Stevie Krupski since his passing for his years of dedication. Joining the Supermodifieds on Sunday were the Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks, and Crown Vic Cruisers.
In New England Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodified action, it was Jeffrey Battle Jr. claiming both the Krupski Cup and 2024 track championship in the division's 40-lap main event. Joining Battle on the podium in the second position was Ryan Locke, while Ben Tinker was next across the line finishing in the third spot. Bumpy's Auto Slingshot rookie Gage Osborne was another driver who was able to double up on Sunday afternoon. The former Pure Stock standout claimed both the feature win and 2024 track championship in his rookie season at the Epping oval. Adam Knowles was able to follow suit with his fellow 2024 Star Speedway track champions as well in the Six Shooter main. The veteran driver claimed both the feature win and 2024 track championship on Sunday afternoon. In MLM Diagnostic Pure Stock action it was George Riley Jr. who topped the competition in the division's main event. While Riley claimed checkers, this year's Pure Stock Championship was won by Sean Nadeau. Nadeau was also a multiple-time winner at Star Speedway throughout the 2024 season. In Crown Vic Cruiser action it was once again Bella Flaherty showing the way, as the multiple-time winner added another trophy to her 2024 collection. The win was the fifth at Star Speedway this season for Flaherty in the upstart division.

FRIDAY NIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED; KRIS WATSON, PAUL CHILDS SCORE MEMORIAL RACE WINS AT STAR8/31/2024 Star Speedway was in action both Friday and Saturday night to close out the month of August and also crowned some of their division champions for 2024 in the process.
Friday night's racing program was the final leg of Star Speedway’s 2024 $5 Friday presented by Little Billy’s Tees program and the final points race of the season for Friday’s weekly divisions. Saturday night's schedule was highlighted by both the Lance Davis Memorial presented by Tanguay Racing for the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks and the Scottie Frazier Memorial race for the Six Shooters. Friday night’s racing saw Cole Robie double up and take home the NELCAR Legends feature win and the Friday night championship. In NELCAR Bandolero action, Bryson Robidoux added another win to his season total. In the Pro V8 Sportsman main event it was Mitch Wendell who took top honors over a competitive field, while Kyle Chandler picked up the Mighty Truck win. The 603 Mini Cup Tour had double features due to a previous rain out, and it was Kendall Whitehill taking the win in both races. In the Crown Vic Cruiser main it was Sebastian Janowiec who added another feature win to his 2024 total. Nick Woodside claimed the win in the Junkyard Dogs feature event. Saturday night, Kris Watson, who has found his way to the front of the pack during a few of Star Speedway’s marquee Street Stock races over the last few seasons, was on his game. Watson took the win in the Lance Davis Memorial race, all presented by Tagnuay Racing. In Six Shooter action, it was Paul Childs who topped the competition, capturing the win in the Scottie Frazier Memorial race - the fourth win this season for Childs. In Bumpy's Auto Slingshot action it was Trevor Graffam claiming top honors, as he took home the Saturday night win. Former MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stock champion George Riley Jr was back in top form Saturday night, as he claimed the win in the division's final race of August. The Cruisers were back on track as well Saturday night and Bella Flaherty captured the win in the division's second race of the weekend. Joining them on Saturday's slate were the Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, the Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks, Crown Vic Cruisers and Mighty Trucks.
In N.E. Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodified action, it was Danny Bowes taking down the win, filling in for Eddie Witkum Jr. in the Callahan Motorsports ride. Rusty Poland had a solid run in the Joe Page owned machine, with Ben Tinker also finishing on the podium. Jaxson Filippone topped the competition in the Bumpy's Auto Slingshot main event. Filippone was followed to the line by rookie of the year contender Billy Eastman who took second, while Jenna Beaulieu was next across the stripe, taking home the third spot. The Six Shooter main event saw Paul Childs return to victory lane, as the driver added another win to his season total. Adam Knowles had a solid run taking the second spot. Mathew Hurteau trailed Childs and Knowles to the line to round off the podium. In the Crown Vic Cruisers feature race, it was Alex Tanguay taking down his first Star Speedway Cruiser win. Patrick Tanguay claimed the second spot when checkers flew, while Bella Flaherty crossed the line in third on the final circuit. Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire, capped off another busy two-day weekend of racing late Saturday night. In typical Star Speedway fashion, Friday's event was completed, seemingly against all odds, as mother nature did her best to not cooperate. Friday night's $5 Friday presented by Little Billy’s Tees racing program was headlined by the N.E.S.S. Big Block Supermodifieds, making their return to the Epping oval. Ben Seitz jumped out front early and was able to stay at the front of the pack until checkers flew, taking down the feature win. The NELCAR Legends, and Bandolero’s were also in action on Friday, and it was Jacob Burns taking the victory in Legends, while Bryson Robidoux claimed Bandolero checkers. The Crown Vic Cruiser win went to Adam Lovejoy, while Dave Lamson and Jeff Mains each took home a win in the Mighty Truck divisions double features. The Izzett Construction Late Models were the top division on Saturday nights schedule, competing in the Triple 25-lap features presented by Cole Companies. Although Eric Sands was able to claim the top spot in two out of the three features, it was Adam Lovejoy who claimed the overall victory on the night due to best average finish. Lovejoy also won the first feature, his first career win in the division. In Woody’s Auto Street Stock action, it was Jimmy Renfrew Jr. who came out on top at features end, while Jimmy Renfrew Sr. topped the competition in the Pro V8 Sportsman main event. Rookie Billy Eastman took home the win in the Bumpy's Auto Slingshot feature, giving him his second win on his 2024 rookie campaign. Ryan Partridge came out on top in the Six Shooter main event, adding another Star Speedway win to his 2024 season totals, while Andrew Harmon took top honors in the MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stock feature race. Saturday's schedule will begin with the pit area opening up at 3PM for Star members, and 3:30PM for non members. Pit admission will be $30 for Star members, and $40 for non members. Grandstands are scheduled to open up at 4PM, with admission being $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/military, and $10 juniors (11-15). On track action for Saturday night will begin at 4:15PM with the start of practice. The first green flag of the night will wave at 6PM with the start of heat racing, with feature racing scheduled to follow. Ryan Locke topped the competition in the 40-lap 350 Supermodified main event, as he claimed the 2024 Jim Belfiore Memorial. Defending Star Speedway 350 Supermodified champion Jeffrey Battle Jr. crossed the stripe in the second position behind Locke, with Justin Harris rounding off the podium in the third position. The Woody’s Auto Street Stocks saw former Six Shooter champion J.T. Cashman claim checkers in Saturday night's feature. Woody's Auto Street Stock rookie Justin Gailloux had a season best second-place finish, while veteran Patrick Tanguay raced his way to a third place finish. Jacob Vaughn was able to take home checkers over a strong field of Bumpy's Auto Slingshot competitors during the division's main event on Saturday night. Second-place honors went to rookie Gage Osborne, while Dwight Souther Jr. claimed the third and final podium position. In Six Shooter action, Ryan McCarthy picked up his second Star Speedway win of the 2024 season. Adam Knowles had a strong outing, as he crossed the line in the second spot on the final circuit, while Mathew Hurteau rounded out the top three finishing positions. The Izzett Construction Late Models, Woody’s Auto Street Stocks, Six Shooters, and Crown Vic Cruisers were all in action as part of this weekend's Saturday night schedule. The Izzett Construction Late Models saw Chase Curtis out pace his brother Jarret en route to taking home the feature win. Jarret Curtis was able to claim the second spot when checkers flew, with Colby Meserve rounding off the podium in the third position in the New England Epoxy 75, worth $2,000 to win. Ryan Partridge topped the competition in Six Shooter action, as he added another Star Speedway win to his career resume. Next across the stripe was Matthew Hurteau who claimed second, with Kody Parker trailing Partridge and Hurteau to take home a third-place finish. In Saturday's Crown Vic Cruiser main event, it was Jake Michaud claiming the feature win, as he held off all challengers to take top honors on the night. Veteran Patrick Tanguay was next across the line on the final lap to take second, with Alex Tanguay rounding off the podium in the third position. In the Woody’s Street Stocks, Shane Gendron picked up the victory in another round of the MLM Fast 40. Originally, Adam Lovejoy, J.T. Cashman and Charlie Baldwin completed the podium. However, all three did not make it through post-race inspection. Star Speedway is back in action next Saturday with another exciting night of racing on tap. Antique Racers, NELCAR Tour, and R&R Street Stock Tour were all on the schedule, setting up two busy days of racing excitement. Friday night's action saw Cole Robie win in the NELCAR Legend race, while Grayson Day took home top honors in NELCAR Bandolero action. Jimmy Renfrew Jr. doubled up in Pro V8 Sportsman competition, as he took checkers in both of the divisions Friday night features. In the Crown Vic Cruisers main event, it was Adam Lovejoy who claimed the win, while Keith Holtby found victory lane in the Mighty Truck feature event. Saturday night was highlighted by the R&R Street Stock Tour rolling into town. Joining them in action were the Izzett Construction Late Models, Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, the Six Shooters, and the MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks. In the R&R Street Stock main, it was Star regular Shane Gendron who was first to the stripe when checkers flew, followed by Charles Baldwin. JT Cashman rounded out the podium with a third place finish. Justin Storace topped all comers to claim victory in the Izzett Construction Late Model feature, while Adam Lovejoy was next across the line, with rookie Nate Leclair securing a season best third place run. The Bumpy's Auto Slingshots saw Dwight Souther Jr. get the win on track, but post-race inspection awarded the top spot to Jacob Vaughn after violations were found on the ride of Souther and Billy Eastman. In Six Shooter action, it was Paul Childs who added another win to his resume, while Jeremiah Sergeant raced his way to a second place effort and following Sergeant to the line in third was Adam Knowles. Former Star Speedway Pure Stock champ George Riley Jr. took the win in the division's main event over Sean Nadeau who finished second, while Daryl Quinlan rounded off the podium in third. The S.T.A.R. Modified winner was John Mulcahy, while George Gilbert won the S.T.A.R. Sportsman feature. Star Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, July 27 for another night of racing.
