📝 ADAM LOVEJOY TAKES HOME BIG PAYDAY AT STAR SPEEDWAYS CATCO STREET STOCK NATIONALS 📝
(October 23, 2023)
After an extra day of waiting due to weather Mother Nature decided to cooperate and the first annual Star Speedway CATCO Street Stock Nationals are in the books. At the end of 75 green flag laps it was the 2022 Star Speedway track champion Adam Lovejoy who was able to top the competition taking home the big win and payday. The K-COB Slingshots, 2 to go show Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostics Pure Stocks, and Mighty Trucks all joined the Street Stocks as part of the Sunday afternoon program as well and some familiar faces made their return to Star Speedways victory lane in the process.
Adam Lovejoy had a pretty good day on Sunday as he time trialed first out of the 31 cars attempting to qualify for the CATCO National event. Lovejoy was then able to take home the win in the Dash for Cash event, which then granted him the pole starting position for the 75 lap main event on Sunday afternoon. After a few early race cautions, Lovejoy was able to build a comfortable lead until around the halfway point when 2023 track champion Shane Gendron was able to close in and take the lead, then begin to pull away from Lovejoy as the race closed in on the final 10 laps until caution flew once again. Gendron was able to hold off Lovejoy on the first few of a series of restarts but with just seven laps to go caution flew once again. On the ensuing restart Gendron spun his tires enough to give Lovejoy the edge he needed to retake the lead for the next five laps until caution flew once again, setting up a final two lap shootout between Lovejoy and Matt Sonhalter who had worked his way into second. When the final green flag flew, Lovejoy and Sonhalter ran the final laps side by side with Lovejoy edging out both Sonhalter and Gendron on the final lap with the trio crossing the stripe three wide giving Lovejoy the biggest Street Stock payoff in Star Speedway history.
In K-COB Slingshot action, Mike “Brick” Ramsey made his return to the division he once frequented on a weekly basis to take home the feature win in the Dave Cameron owned blue deuce. Ramsey jumped out front on the initial lap and dominated the caution free race en route to his first Star Speedway win in over two years. Jenna Bealieu had another strong podium run taking home the second position while Pure Stock regular Gage Osbourne had a career best run in his new Slingshot taking home the third position.
Jeremy Hayes backed up his 2023 Star Speedway 2 to go show Six Shooter championship season with another win on Sunday afternoon. The young gun jumped out front in the early laps of the division's main event and led all the way to the finish adding another first place trophy to his growing collection. Six Shooter veterans Ryan Nelson and Randy Washburn followed Hayes across the line on the final lap taking home second and third place respectively.
In Pro V8 Sportsman action, it was Matt Robinson who topped the field of competition in the division's 35 lap main event. Previous 2023 Pro V8 Sportsman race winner Jimmy Renfrew Sr. crossed the stripe in the second spot behind Robinson, while Ed Flannigan rounded off the podium in the third position.
The Mighty Trucks saw Dave Lamson add another win to his racing resume in the upstart division's main event. Following Lamson to the line in the second position was Kyle Chandler who had one of his best Star Speedway races this season, Dwarf Car veteran Tom Harwood rounded off the podium in third.
Star Speedway will be back in action one final time to close out the 2023 racing season as we roll into Halloween Howler weekend next Friday and Saturday October 27th, and 28th. 📝 Star Speedway Crowns Remaining 2023 Champions During Special Friday Night Program Due to Weather 📝
(September 22, 2023)
Weather may have forced the final Saturday night point race of the 2023 Star Speedway racing season to be rescheduled for Friday, September 22, but the action was hot on the track as the championship battles were decided.
Five of Star Speedway's weekly divisions were on hand as the 350 Supers had the night off - earlier this season, Jeffrey Battle repeated as champion of Star's top class. Other than Battle’s repeat in the Supers, veteran Billy Osborne claimed the championship in the MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks, while Connor McDougal was crowned champion with a feature win on the final night of the Izzett Construction Late Model season last Friday.
McDougal was able to take home his first championship in the Izzett Construction Late Models. He entered the final points night in second position in the standings, but was able to win the race and earn enough points to claim the championship in the process. Jimmy Connor had a solid run on Friday night, as he crossed the stripe in the second spot, while George Maroun, who made his return to the Late Models again, finished in third.
In the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks, it was defending champion Adam Lovejoy giving up his crown from last year on Friday, but also claiming checkers in the division's final points race of the season. JT Cashman trailed Lovejoy to the line claiming second, while Shane Gendron rounded off the podium in third, while also claiming the track championship. While the battle went to Lovejoy, the war went to Gendron, who was the most consistent driver throughout the 2023 season in the highly competitive class. He entered the final race of the season with a more than comfortable lead.
In the K-COB Slingshots, veteran Dave Cameron took home the Friday night feature win with rookies Nate LeClair and Jenna Beaulieu following him across the line claiming second and third, respectively. LeClair’s second-place finish capped an incredibly consistent rookie season after he made the jump up from Six Shooters in 2023 and was an immediate threat right from his first race. LeClair visited Star Speedway victory lane many times on his way to the 2023 track championship.
In the 2 To Go Show Six Shooters, it was another young driver taking home the feature win and championship honors, as Jeremy Hayes claimed the championship in only his second year in the division. Hayes was also a multiple-time winner throughout the 2023 season. While Hayes claimed the feature win, Paul Childs had a solid run earning the second position, and Adam Knowles rounded off the podium in third.
Veteran Billy Osborne was another driver who had a really good night on Friday, as he was able to take home both a feature win and track championship in the MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks. Andrew Harmon trailed Osborne to the line on the final lap, with last year's division champion George Riley Jr. rounding out the top three.
The 2023 Star Speedway racing season is entering its final stages as we enter the fall months, but there is still more action on tap with a few of the highest paying Street stock races in the country upcoming in the month of October. 🏆 Jeffrey Battle Clinches Another 350 Supers Title While His Brother Wins Steve Krupski Memorial; MacRae Wins MLM Fast 40, Baldwin Clinches Fast 40 Title; Knowles, Quinlan, Osborne & Lamson Win Sunday Races 🏆
(August 7, 2023)
Although mother nature refused to cooperate on what was originally scheduled to be a Friday night at the race track, Sunday was a beautiful day for racing and the Star Speedway staff was able to make all the changes necessary to get the scheduled program done in full with a 1:30PM Sunday afternoon start time.
Sunday's races also honored longtime track worker, the mayor of Epping, Steve Krupski. The Krupski Cup was also the championship race for the 350 Supermodifieds and the championship was also decided in the MLM Fast 40 Series presented by CATCO for the Woody's Street Stocks.
In 350 Supermodified action, it was Ryan Battle who took home top honors, grabbing checkers in the Krupski Cup race. Veteran Jim Storace took home the second position behind Battle. Defending track champion Jeffrey Battle Jr. rounded off the podium in third and the finish was enough to clinch consecutive track titles for the Massachusetts driver in a close points race that came down to the wire with this year's championship runner-up Ryan Locke.
The last leg of the 2023 MLM Fast 40 presented by CATCO series for the Woody's Auto Street Stocks was on the Sunday schedule and Rob MacRae was the man on top when checkers flew. MacRae was followed to the line by this year's MLM Fast 40 champion Charlie Baldwin, who was able to lock up the championship with the second place finish. Shane Gendron continued to build on his string of recent success rounding off the podium in third.
The 2 To Go Show Six Shooters were on track as well Sunday and it was Adam Knowles who beat all comers after coming back from some recent time off from racing to take the feature win.
Veteran driver Billy Osborne grabbed the win in the first MLM Diagnostic Pure Stock main event on Sunday adding another victory to his 2023 season total. Second place went to the always fast Andrew Harmon, who trailed Osborne to the line, and last year's track champion, the always consistent George Riley Jr., rounded off the podium with a third place finish. In the second Pure Stock race of the night, Darryl Quinlan went to Victory Lane.
The Mighty Truck division was also in action on Sunday afternoon and for the second straight race it was Dave Lamson who took home the feature win. Multiple-time 2023 winner John Curtis was second at the line with CJ McNall trailing him in third.

🏆 Charbonneau, Robinson, Lamson, Collins, Petrin, Janowiec Win Friday Night at Star; Mother Nature Takes Her Own Saturday Checkered Flag
(July 29, 2023)
It was a perfect night for racing on Friday in Epping, New Hampshire, and another leg of the 2023 $5 Friday series at Star Speedway is in the books. Friday nights racing saw a few new drivers add their name to the list of 2023 race winners, including a rather improbable finish in the K-COB Slingshot main event.
Dan Collins showed up to Star Speedway on Friday night for a one off opportunity to drive the No. 2 Slingshot, owned and normally driven by Dave Cameron and certainly made the most of the opportunity. Collins spent most of the K-COB Slingshot feature race in or around the top-five, and when the white flag flew Collins sat comfortably in the third position in line to take home a podium finish in his Star Slingshot debut.
However, the race was not over and when the two leaders touched exiting turn two on the final circuit, the slight contact sent the two spinning in opposite directions and Collins cruised through the middle straight to Star Speedway victory lane. Heath DeButts added another solid finish to his 2023 season as he crossed the stripe in the second position, while Ryan Stuart ran a smart and consistent race and earned himself the third and final podium position.
The Mighty Truck division was back on track on Friday night and David Lamson scored his first Truck win at the Epping oval this season. Multiple-time Mighty Truck winner John Curtis was forced to settle for the runner-up position on the night, with CJ McNall rounding out the top three.
Cody Petrin topped the field for the second time in a row in the Junkyard Dog feature event. The upstart Cruiser division was also on the Friday night card and Sebastion Janowiec added another feature win to his 2023 season resume. Traver Michaud took home the second position behind Janowiec, with Sullivan Olsen rounding off the podium in the third position.
Star Speedway attempted Saturday night racing on July 29, but weather forced the end of the show just after heats. Schedule updates will be available early this week. For more information on Star Speedway, visit StarSpeedwayNH.com.

With a busy weekend of racing and events scheduled for June 16th-18th, Star Speedway kicked off the action with the second edition of their $5 Friday program. Fortunately mother nature cooperated on Friday and some familiar faces were able to find their way back to Star victory lane, and a handful of new drivers joined the growing list of 2023 Star Speedway winners as well. Unfortunately, weather forced the cancellation of the Saturday night portion of the weekend double header, and the details on rescheduling of Saturday's program will be released soon.
In K-COB Plumbing and Heating Slingshot action it was once again rookie standout Nate LeClair taking home yet another feature win. The 2023 Slingshot season has been highlighted by the emergence of a handful of young upcoming talent, with three of the division's young drivers picking up their first career wins in the division already. However, no one has shined brighter than LeClair, who has won three times, and been on the podium in every start he has made this season. Jaxson Filippone backed up his recent feature win with a solid second place run behind LeClair, with fellow young gun Dwight Souther Jr. rounding off the podium in third.
In NELCAR Legend car action it was Owen Mahar who paced the field taking home his first with the Legend tour this season. The upstart Cruiser division was back on the schedule for Friday night and this time it was Sullivan Olsen taking home checkers in the division's main event. John Curtis is proving himself the man to beat in Mighty Truck action as he took home his second win of the season in as many starts at the Epping oval. Traver Michaud was the winner in the Super Trooper division over a field full of Star Speedway's future stars. In Pro V8 Enduro action it was Matt Robinson taking down the main event win over Frank Bryan Ed Flannigan.
Star Speedway will be back in action this Saturday night, June 24 with another full slate of racing action on tap headlined by double Woody's Street Stock features and the return of the Late Models. For more information, visit StarSpeedwayNH.com.

The 2 To Go Show Six Shooters had two feature events on schedule for Saturday night, the first of which being a makeup from the previous Saturday's rained out event. Ryan McCarthy scored his first ever Star Speedway Six shooter win in the first feature event over Adam Knowles and Jeremy Hayes. When feature event number two rolled out, Ryan Partridge took control and claimed his first Star Speedway win of 2023 in the division. Zach Washburn crossed the stripe in the second position, with Jeremy Hayes taking home the third spot, giving the young driver his second podium of the night.

PREVIEW: Action Packed Racing Returns To Star Speedway To Celebrate Memorial Day This Friday, May 26
(May 23, 2023)
Star Speedway has added a special Friday night program on Memorial Day weekend, May 26, after a rainout last week for the first time in five years. The entire card scheduled for that day has been moved to Friday with the first race scheduled at 7PM to celebrate Memorial Day.
The Izzett Construction Late Model division will headline the schedule, back for their second consecutive race. Also on the docket are the Woody's Auto Street Stocks, K-COB Slingshots, 2 To Go Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing, and MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks. There will also be a Ladies-only Slingshot race scheduled to close out the racing program on Friday.
Justin Storace claimed the first victory of the new season in the Late Model main event last time out. Dan Sweeney started off his year on a strong note finishing in the second spot, and Lew Fortin was third. Storace will enter week two looking to back up his opening night performance, as we begin to get a chance to see what the 2023 version of the Late Model division will look like.
The Woody's Auto Street Stocks have seen just two different winners in three races to start out their 2023 season as Joe Ventrillo opened up the year with back to back wins, before Ryan Phillips bested the field on May 12. Aaron Day and JT Cashman have both shown they have what it takes to run up front so far this season, both scoring solid runs throughout the opening weeks of the 2023 racing season.
Nate LeClair was the winner last time out in the K-COB Slingshots. LeClair, who made the jump up from Six Shooters last season, is yet to finish outside the top three in his four-race Slingshot career. The Slingshot season seemed to pickup where it left off last season as the Dave Cameron show. The veteran driver won back to back races to start off 2023 before the young guns of the division started to take over. Joey Fraser, another Six Shooter graduate, is the only other driver to visit Slingshot victory lane so far.
Billy Eastman is the first repeat winner in 2 To Go Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing action, after winning on May 12. Eastman has been in contention for victory in all four of the divisions races so far this year.
Adam Knowles is off to a strong start to his 2023 campaign. He has one Star Speedway Six Shooter win to his credit already this year. Last seasons Six Shooter rookie of the year, Jeremy Hayes, is another driver to watch -- he has started off his season on a positive note, also claiming a win already.
Also in action Friday night will be the MLM Diagnostic Pure Stock division who saw veteran Billy Osborne take home checkers last Friday night. Last years division champion George Riley Jr. has started his championship defense off with a streak of consistent finishes, but is yet to visit victory lane in 2023. Gage Osborne was forced to play runner-up to his uncle last Friday night, but the young driver already has one win on his resume this season, and will most likely be a championship threat by seasons end.
Star Speedway racing on Friday, May 26 begins at 7PM. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/juniors/military and kids 11 and under are free.
General admission tickets may be purchased in advance on Ticket Hoss for just $10 per person for ages over 11 until Thursday at 12:01AM. For more information, visit StarSpeedwayNH.com.

(May 12, 2023)
The first round of Friday night racing at Star Speedway is in the books for 2023. The Izzett Construction Late Models, Woody's Street Stocks, K Cob Slingshots, 2 To Go Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing and MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks were all in action Friday.
The Izzett Construction Late Model division headlined the schedule and it was Justin Storace who took home the feature win when checkers flew. Storace made the winning pass on eventual second place finisher Dan Sweeney, and then held the competition off. Lew Fortin had a strong run and took home the third and final podium position.
Ryan Phillips became the first Street Stock driver not named Joe Ventrillo to win in 2023 when he bested a strong field of Woody's Auto Street Stocks. Aaron Day had his best run of the 2023 season to date, as he took home the second position behind Phillps. Finishing in the third position was young gun JT Cashman, the former Six Shooter champion, who has been a front runner throughout the opening stages of the 2023 season.
In K-COB Slingshot action, Nate LeClair took home his first career Slingshot win in just his fourth ever start. LeClair has started his rookie campaign out on a roll with three consecutive third-place finishes before finding victory lane on Friday night. Dave Cameron bounced back from a crash that damaged his car last Saturday night to take home the second position behind LeClair. The Final podium position went to Brad Weisman, who drove his mount to a 2023 season best third place finish.
Billy Eastman seems to have sorted out all of the issues that plagued his 2022 Six Shooter season as he visited Star Speedway victory lane for the second time in the early stages of 2023 on Friday night. Ryan Partridge had a solid run bringing his car home in the second position, with Jeremy Hayes finishing in third.
Pure Stock action saw veteran ace Billy Osborne take home his first feature event win of the year. Trailing Osbourne to the line when checkers flew was last weeks winner Gage Osborne in a team car to his uncle Billy. Daryl Quinlan, who is always a consistent runner when he comes to Star Speedway, was able to claim the final podium spot.

PREVIEW: 350 SUPERMODIFIEDS SET TO KICK OFF THEIR SEASON THIS SATURDAY AT STAR SPEEDWAY AS PART OF FIVE DIVISION CARD 👊
Story on April 26, 2023
With the annual Bunny Brawl now in the books, Star Speedway sets its sights on week one of Saturday night weekly division racing this Saturday, April 29. With a full slate of racing on the docket, the 350 Supermodifieds highlight the weekend schedule, while joining them for their second outing of 2023 are the Woody's Auto Street Stocks, the K Cob Slingshots, 2 To Go Show Six Shooters and MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks. The first green flag of the afternoon this Saturday is set to fly at 5 p.m., when heat racing begins.
The 350 Supermodifieds, the fastest weekly short track division in the northeast, will see a host of contenders returning for the 2023 season. Last years champion Jeffrey Battle will be back on track, along with the rest of last years top point earners set to return, including runner-up Bobby Timmons, and third-place point man Brad Babb. Ed Witkum Jr., Ben Tinker, Ryan Battle and a host of others will also be looking to improve on strong 2022 seasons and possibly making a run at the 2023 track championship in the process.
The Woody's Auto Street Stocks will be on the docket once again on Saturday. Joe Ventrillo was the winner of the first race of the season at last weekend's Bunny Brawl, collecting $1,300. Ventrillo looks like he is sure to be a contender this season. Defending champion Adam Lovejoy will be looking to defend his track title against the likes of veterans Jim Storace, Charles Baldwin, young guns Clark Brooks and JT Cashman and many more -- all of which will be looking to throw themselves into the title conversation.
Dave Cameron may not have won last years championship, but seemed to have won about everything else including last weekends season opener in the K Cob Slingshots. Cameron will be a force to reckon with in 2023. Justin Gaillioux was the driver who picked up the 2022 championship, he will be looking to rebound from a difficult opening day run this week. The young guns of the Slingshots may be the drivers to talk about as the 2023 season unfolds.
