MCDOUGAL WINS IN LATE MODELS, GENDRON TOPS MLM FAST 40 IN STREET STOCKS

JOSLIN, FISETTE & FLAHERTY ALSO CLAIM SATURDAY NIGHT CHECKERS AT STAR SPEEDWAY
The Izzett Construction Late Models were on the Saturday, June 8 schedule for their second race of the 2024 season at Star Speedway. This time out, it was Connor McDougal who topped the competitive field of drivers to claim the win. McDougal was able to best his opening day Late Model finish of second with a win Saturday, as he grabbed his first Star Speedway win of the 2024 season. Colby Meserve drove his mount to a second place finish behind McDougal, with Chase Curtis rounding off the podium with a third-place effort.
Defending Woody’s Auto Street Stock track champion Shane Gendron proved himself the man to beat Saturday, as he found his way to Start victory lane at nights end. Charlie Baldwin backed up a Street Stock win last time out with a runner up this weekend, as he crossed the stripe second, with another previous 2024 winner, Joey Ventrillo, in third.
Patrick Joslin was another driver who grabbed his first Star Speedway win of the 2024 season on Saturday, as he claimed checkers in the Six Shooter main event. Kody Parker was next across the line behind Joslin at races end, with Adam Knowles rounding off the podium in third.

In the MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stock feature event it was Kayden Fisette who crossed the line first on the final lap taking home the feature win. Former Star Pure Stock Champion George Riley Jr had another consistent run, as he claimed the runner-up spot behind Fisette, while Sean Nadeau finished the main event in third.

Bella Flaherty was able to claim her second Star Speedway win of the 2024 season in the Crown Vic Cruiser feature on Saturday. Veteran driver Patrick Tanguay had a strong run claiming runner up honors on the night, while Jake Michaud rounded off the podium in the third spot.

Star Speedway will be back in action for a double-duty weekend of racing on June 14 and 15. Friday is the first $5 Friday night racing of the season, while Saturday welcomes the NEMA Lites, Late Models and more to town for a feature night of action.
