Star Speedway was back on track Saturday night, with five divisions of racing including the Bob Webber Sr./Jim Martel memorial race for the N.E. Concrete Foundations 350 Supers. Along with the 350s, the Pro 4 Modifieds made their first appearance of 2024 at the Epping oval. Three more of Star’s weekly divisions were in action on Saturday, as the Slingshots, Six Shooters, and Pure Stocks all were also part of the slate.
The main event for the evening, the Bob Webber Sr/Jim Martel Memorial, saw defending Star Speedway 350 Supers track champion Jeffrey Battle claim the win over a couple of his family members when checkers flew. While the young open-wheel standout added yet another win to his career total, veteran Eddie Witkum Jr. piloted his Callahan Motorsports mount to a second-place finish, while Ryan Battle rounded out the podium with a third-place run. Rob Richardi continued his reign of recent dominance in the Pro 4 Modified feature event, as he took home top honors in the first appearance at Star Speedway this season. Jack Dumas had a strong run on Saturday, as the Brockton, Massachusetts, driver claimed runner-up honors behind Richardi. Kurt Lester was next across the stripe behind the top duo in third place. The Slingshots were back in action on Saturday, and it was a story of the rookies. Rookie Gage Osborne claimed his first career win in the division, as the former Pure Stock standout made the jump up this season. Jake Rheaume, who is also running his first season as a Slingshot driver in 2024, took home the second position, posting his strongest run to date in the process. Third place went to Billy Eastman, who along with Osborne, has also found his way to victory lane this year early in their rookie seasons. Sean Nadeau topped the competition in the Pure Stock division on Saturday, claiming his first Star Speedway win of 2024. Jameson Ritter put in a solid run during the main event and claimed runner up honors while former Pure Stock champion and fan favorite George Riley Jr. rounded off the Pure Stock division podium in third place. The Six Shooters feature saw Ryan Partridge in victory lane, claiming his first Star Speedway feature win of the year. Star Speedway will be back on track on Friday, May 17, with another full night of racing. For more information on Star Speedway, visit us on Facebook or StarSpeedwayNH.com.
