This past weekend was another beautiful night for racing in Epping, and Star Speedway was in action with six divisions of racing on Little Billy Tees $5 Friday and six divisions of weekly racing on Saturday.
Friday included the Bumpy’s Dwarf Cars special, 40 laps and $500 to win, along with five divisions. Saturday, For the Izzett Construction Late Models, it was Don Francis Memorial night, while the Six Shooters raced the Don and Aline Coster Memorial event. Also on track Saturday were the Woody's Auto Street Stocks, Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, and Brandy's Auto Crown Vic Cruisers. In the Izzett Construction Late Models Don Francis Memorial, it was Jimmy Renfrew Jr. topping some strong competition en route to the win. Bryan Kruczek made his return to Star Late Model action and claimed the runner-up position, while Ricky Bly rounded off the podium in third. JT Cashman backed up last Saturday's win in the R&R Street Stock Tour with another Woody's Auto Street Stock victory Saturday night. Veteran Ron Bolduc claimed runner-up honors, with Dylan Bilodeau next across the line. The Bumpy’s Auto Slingshots saw Callie Osborne claim her first win at Star Speedway in the competitive division. Multi-division standout Dwight Souther Jr. took down the second position, with Stone Slathery rounding out the podium in third. It was Don and Aline Coster Memorial night for the Six Shooters and Patrick Joslin was able to drive his way to the main event victory. In Brandy's Auto Crown Vic Cruisers action it was Jake Michaud who topped the competition. On Friday, the Little Billy Tees night special winner in the Bumpy’s Dwarf Cars was Tom Harwood, holding off the challenges of Cody Hodgdon. In the Mighty Trucks, Kyle Chandler was in victory lane, while Mitch Wendell captured the flag in the Pro V8 Sportsman. Grayson Day added another win in the Bandolero division, while Jake Kelly won in the NELCAR Legends. Star Speedway will be back on the track on Saturday, August 16, for another night of racing.
