Star Speedway kicked off their August racing schedule Saturday night with five divisions of weekly racing. The night of racing was highlighted by the Jim Belfiore Memorial race for the N.E. Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodifieds, one of the marquee yearly events. Also in action on Saturday were the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks, Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, Six Shooters and MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks.
Ryan Locke topped the competition in the 40-lap 350 Supermodified main event, as he claimed the 2024 Jim Belfiore Memorial. Defending Star Speedway 350 Supermodified champion Jeffrey Battle Jr. crossed the stripe in the second position behind Locke, with Justin Harris rounding off the podium in the third position. The Woody’s Auto Street Stocks saw former Six Shooter champion J.T. Cashman claim checkers in Saturday night's feature. Woody's Auto Street Stock rookie Justin Gailloux had a season best second-place finish, while veteran Patrick Tanguay raced his way to a third place finish. Jacob Vaughn was able to take home checkers over a strong field of Bumpy's Auto Slingshot competitors during the division's main event on Saturday night. Second-place honors went to rookie Gage Osborne, while Dwight Souther Jr. claimed the third and final podium position. In Six Shooter action, Ryan McCarthy picked up his second Star Speedway win of the 2024 season. Adam Knowles had a strong outing, as he crossed the line in the second spot on the final circuit, while Mathew Hurteau rounded out the top three finishing positions. Sean Nadeau found himself back in Star Speedway victory lane Saturday night, as he topped the field in the MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks main event. Star Speedway will be back on track next weekend with another action packed schedule of racing excitement on tap, including the $5 Friday Series presented by Little Billy’s Tees and Saturday racing.
