FRIDAY NIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED; KRIS WATSON, PAUL CHILDS SCORE MEMORIAL RACE WINS AT STAR8/31/2024 Star Speedway was in action both Friday and Saturday night to close out the month of August and also crowned some of their division champions for 2024 in the process.
Friday night's racing program was the final leg of Star Speedway’s 2024 $5 Friday presented by Little Billy’s Tees program and the final points race of the season for Friday’s weekly divisions. Saturday night's schedule was highlighted by both the Lance Davis Memorial presented by Tanguay Racing for the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks and the Scottie Frazier Memorial race for the Six Shooters. Friday night’s racing saw Cole Robie double up and take home the NELCAR Legends feature win and the Friday night championship. In NELCAR Bandolero action, Bryson Robidoux added another win to his season total. In the Pro V8 Sportsman main event it was Mitch Wendell who took top honors over a competitive field, while Kyle Chandler picked up the Mighty Truck win. The 603 Mini Cup Tour had double features due to a previous rain out, and it was Kendall Whitehill taking the win in both races. In the Crown Vic Cruiser main it was Sebastian Janowiec who added another feature win to his 2024 total. Nick Woodside claimed the win in the Junkyard Dogs feature event. Saturday night, Kris Watson, who has found his way to the front of the pack during a few of Star Speedway’s marquee Street Stock races over the last few seasons, was on his game. Watson took the win in the Lance Davis Memorial race, all presented by Tagnuay Racing. In Six Shooter action, it was Paul Childs who topped the competition, capturing the win in the Scottie Frazier Memorial race - the fourth win this season for Childs. In Bumpy's Auto Slingshot action it was Trevor Graffam claiming top honors, as he took home the Saturday night win. Former MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stock champion George Riley Jr was back in top form Saturday night, as he claimed the win in the division's final race of August. The Cruisers were back on track as well Saturday night and Bella Flaherty captured the win in the division's second race of the weekend.
