BOWES, FILIPPONE, CHILDS, NADEAU, TANGUAY, LAMSON TAKE SATURDAY NIGHT CHECKERS AT STAR SPEEDWAY8/19/2024 Star Speedway’s weekly racing series was back on track Saturday night, with six divisions once again set to do battle at The Place To Race. The N.E. Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodifieds headlined the schedule, running their usual 40-lap contest. Joining them on Saturday's slate were the Bumpy's Auto Slingshots, the Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks, Crown Vic Cruisers and Mighty Trucks.
In N.E. Concrete Foundations 350 Supermodified action, it was Danny Bowes taking down the win, filling in for Eddie Witkum Jr. in the Callahan Motorsports ride. Rusty Poland had a solid run in the Joe Page owned machine, with Ben Tinker also finishing on the podium. Jaxson Filippone topped the competition in the Bumpy's Auto Slingshot main event. Filippone was followed to the line by rookie of the year contender Billy Eastman who took second, while Jenna Beaulieu was next across the stripe, taking home the third spot. The Six Shooter main event saw Paul Childs return to victory lane, as the driver added another win to his season total. Adam Knowles had a solid run taking the second spot. Mathew Hurteau trailed Childs and Knowles to the line to round off the podium. Sean Nadeau was able to drive his way to another MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stock feature win on Saturday night, outrunning former division champion George Riley Jr. Riley was able to claim the second spot at features end, while Andrew Harmon rounded out the podium with a third. In the Crown Vic Cruisers feature race, it was Alex Tanguay taking down his first Star Speedway Cruiser win. Patrick Tanguay claimed the second spot when checkers flew, while Bella Flaherty crossed the line in third on the final circuit. Dave Lamson claimed the feature win in Saturday night's Mighty Truck main event. Star Speedway will be back on track on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31 for more racing action.
